I Can Almost Taste the Coffee

Well the Spurs had one of the best games I have ever witnessed. I've never seen them more focused before. I think they are using all the negativity as a motivating force. I really can't understand why people feel so resentful towards them. Even at work people are always against the Spurs. Oh well! I just smile, don't trash talk, because that's the Spurs way. I let their skill speak for them. The Spurs are in a class of their own. They don't pound on their chests when they make every shot. They don't put others down. I guess in today's world people don't appreciate the nice guys.
I don't want to jinx my team, but I can almost taste the coffee that teacher will have to bring me every Friday. And to think, the only team the Spurs were going to face that I was afraid of were the Suns. Guess the Shaq wasn't such a great addition after all. Too bad Nash plays fo
r the Suns because I really like him. We need to bring out the brooms...I feel a sweep possibly happening.

I received my Spurs text alert that Manu won the NBA's sixth man award. Congrats to my babe.

Half Day Friday

Friday our district had a half day release for students and teachers. On a typical weekend I head home and just veg out and relax. This time Jen and I had lunch with my other friend from work. I'm really glad that the 3 of us are getting along because I love hanging out with both of them. I pigged out and had a drink.
After lunch we headed over to Michael's. I'm completely obsessed with arts and crafts. I love to do them all the time and and I'll try anything. And I guess I'm somewhat good at them. Poor Jen. I can spend hours at any arts and crafts store. And I've often wished to open my own business and do all sorts of stuff. I would bake, make jewelry, knit, make invitations, and anything else that comes my way. So, as I continue my craft obsession, I'll have to post some pictures of what I do.

The Bet

Yesterday was one of the most intense Spurs games I have ever seen. A lot is riding on this year's playoffs. I really want the Spurs to win a back to back championship. Also, they are one of the oldest teams in the NBA so I'm not sure if they'll win again after this year. I've also made a bet with the teacher at school. Winner of the Spurs/Suns series has to buy the other their favorite Starbucks drink every Friday for a month. Well to sum things up: Spurs lead the series 1 - 0. And it was a double overtime too. Now I love Manu but Timmy made the move of the day. Sport Center played it over, and over, and over. Timmy shot a 3 pointer and tied the game for the second time. Timmy hasn't made a 3 pointer since 2005. That's not his area. Then Manu shot the winning shot. Gotta love the Spurs and basketball.

Welcome Back, Brent!

Great news everyone! Brent Barry is back with the Spurs and actively participating. He's been back for a while but yesterday he finally played and he did well. I'm so glad. The playoffs start on Saturday so be ready to not hear from me for a couple of months. In real life, I mean. Not in the blogging world. Of course I'll have lots to talk about as the playoffs go on. Hopefully, the Spurs will be in it long enough. Go Spurs Go!
A coworker at school wants to place a wager on the Spurs vs Suns first round match up. I don't know what to bet. I'm not a better. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. The only criteria is that it has to be no more than 20 dollars. I guess we could just bet 20 dollars, but where's the fun in that, right?

Happy Birthday!

Today my family gathered to celebrate my older sisters' birthdays. One was born April 5th and the other was born today. I haven't mentioned a whole lot about my family but with time I probably will. My sisters are 10 and 11 years older than me. I also have a brother that is two years younger than me. As you can see there is a major age difference. My sister picked her favorite Mexican food restaurant, which I hate. I hate Mexican food and I hate that place and the Spurs were playing. However, being a trooper I went because it was their birthday.
So back to the reason for my blog entry. We all ordered drinks. Yummy! I hate to drink alone so I was overjoyed when my sisters wanted a drink also. I ordered a strawberry daiquiri and to my surprise I was carded. Yay! All my friends know how upset I am that I'm turning 30 next year. Take that the big 30. Oh and the waiter didn't card my sisters. Ha ha!!!

OMG! Seriously?

The Spurs lose to Utah. Utah? I can't believe it! Sure they're a decent team. And they have the best home record, but seriously. With 9 minutes left in the 4th quarter and 20 points down, the Spurs decide to play all their bench players and not any other players. I get it. But with 9 minutes. Couldn't they have tried?

On a different subject, we had parent teacher conferences this week. Luckily for the second year in a row they went really well. Last year when taught 3rd I had to tell some parents that their child didn't pass TAKS and share with them my plan of action. The parents were all supportive and nice. I must admit that surprised me a bit. I've come to the conclusion that I have decent people skills. I've had some difficult conversations and difficult students and yet it turns out okay. Sometimes, I think my guardian angel works overtime.
