Did I Mention I Love This Book?

A week ago or so I wrote a post about how much I loved the Twilight book. I ordered the next three books and am impatiently waiting for them to arrive. However, while I wait I decided to reread the book I finished because sometimes I'm so excited to finish the book I may be careless in some of the details. I always hate to finish reading a book because then it's the end.
As I continue to wait for my books to come I did an Internet search on Twilight. I went on the Stephanie Meyer website to see what she had to say about her books. Much to my surprise, Mrs. Meyer did something for her readers that I greatly appreciate. She decided to make a list of songs that she thinks about when she reads the book. I found this so refreshing because I always think of songs that could be playing while I read a book. I also think of possible actors that could portray the characters in a movie. I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks of music when reading, but the fact that she did that for us is really nice. As embarrassed as I am to admit this, and I have only done so with close friends, I sometimes play songs in my head in real life situations. Weird, I know but music is so important in my life. So anyway, check out her songs for each book, after you read it of course. It won't mean much if you don't.

OMG, I LOVE THIS BOOK!

Just yesterday I received my copy of Stephanie Meyer's book Twilight. I have to say that it has completely captivated me. I'm obsessed with finishing it. I'm also about to order the rest right now so that I can read the the other two books before final book of the series is released in a couple of weeks. How strange that I only heard about the books last Sunday when I read about the author in my lastest issue of Entertainment Weekly. I highly recommend the book. I hope the rest of them are as good. Oh and there is movie coming out in December on Twilight. I have to say I'm super excited about that. So I hope I can get a friend or my cousin into the books so that I can have someone to go to the movies with. Are there any takers out there?
Oh and FYI. The book is about forbidden love and vampires. But not vampires as they are typically portrayed in movies, they're different. I thought I should mention that bef
ore someone started reading the book and then realized vampires are not their thing. But trust me it's really good.

Horacio and Me

I just wanted to share some cute photos of my great nephew and me. We've been having a great summer!

Happy Birthday Mami!

Today my Mami turned 65. That means she is officially a senior citizen. After church we went to Luby's to all eat together and celebrate. Even though she looked tired I think she was happy to be there. So happy birthday, Mami!

Good Times!

I have to say that this past weekend was absolutely one of the best this summer. As I mentioned previously my best friend Edie came into town. While I lived in San Antonio I met Edie while teaching at my previous school. Instantly we clicked and she so kindly invited me into her family. I have to say that I am so grateful to her because her family welcomed me and I had a family away from home. My dad once joked if Connie, Edie's mother, was going to claim me on her income tax because I spent so much time with them. We had breakfast every weekend, went grocery shopping, and had Sunday dinner with the family every week. So Edie and I saw each other basically every day. We spent time together at work and also on weekends. Naturally, it was very difficult when I moved back home, but we've kept in touch and I'm so glad.
My parents were also grateful because I suppose you always want good people in your child's life. So on Edie and Connie's visit they obviously spent a lot of time with my family. I'm proud to say that they are part of my family. If I ever get married (many of you know my position on that) Edie will be my maid of honor.
Another reason that I feel my weekend was amazing was because I merged the old with the new. My very first friend at my new school was Yoly. She makes me laugh and always tells it like it is. Yoly fits right in with my family and my old friends, Edie and Connie. Next time Edie comes into town I hope to introduce her to a few of my other friends. I'm still debating having a 30th birthday party.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!

I love history and social studies so I am thrilled that it is America's birthday. Actually the Declaration of Independence wasn't signed on July 4th, but I won't bore everyone with all that historical stuff.
I got to spend the day with my best friend, Ed
ie. She, her mother, and son all came into town from San Antonio yesterday. I have to say that it ranks up there as the best 4th of July.

Happy Birthday Matthew!

Today is Matthew's 7th birthday. We are celebrating it by having dinner at my house and attending his tee-ball game. His teammates will get goodie bags that my sister and I put together on Saturday. She also made cupcakes for them. Yummy! We'll officially celebrate it on July 5th when my sister has her first 4th of July get together.
Matthew is my first godson so he's pretty special.
